KALAMAZOO, Mich. — (Apr. 11, 2014) It started over five years ago on the campus of Western Michigan University and this year it has grown to new heights. The Wounded Warrior 5K, which is hosted by the cadets of the Army and Air Force ROTC has raised the bar in fundraising this year. With just over $17,000 donated from WMU Greek Life alone, the cadets are on schedule to break a donation of nearly $20,000.
The cadets are giving back to the Wounded Warrior Project, a project that aims to raise awareness and public aid to wounded veterans.
The race course begins at the WMU Army ROTC Battalion and weaves 3.07 miles through the main campus of WMU.
