KALAMAZOO, Mich. (April 17, 2014) — The victim in the fatal shooting at Wayside West early April 17 was identified by Kalamazoo Public Safety.
Damian Tarey Tejada, 23, from Kalamazoo, died from multiple gunshot wounds after an apparent argument at the popular entertainment center on Stadium Drive.
A 23-year-0ld man was arrested after leaving the bar and being stopped by police on W. Michigan Avenue just west of Howard Avenue. He has not been identified pending arraignment on an open murder charge.
Both the bar and the scene of the arrest are not far from the campus of Western Michigan University, and the bar is known to be a popular spot for students. No ties to anyone from the school have been made.
The incident was witnessed by many and descriptions and videos have already been posted.
