GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (April 17, 20140) — A YouTube video posted by Grand Rapids Public Schools to promote a fitness event features a hash tag battle in Jimmy Fallon style.
The video features Steve Heacock, a senior vice president at Spectrum Health, and GRPS Superintendent Teresa Weatherall Neal writing back and forth via computer to discuss the Jump Jam, a jump rope competition sponsored by Spectrum Health to encourage healthy and fitness among GRPS students.
The video becomes a hash tag battle of the kind popularized by comedy skits by Jimmy Fallon until Grand Rapids Mayor George Heartwell jumps in to say, “Hey, guys — hash tag — get back to work!”
Jump Jam is scheduled for April 19 and is free.
