GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich. (April 18, 2014) — A man from Kentwood has died after an SUV hit his car on Apr. 17.
Thomas Haight, 73, was driving a Lincoln passenger vehicle eastbound on 60th Street when a Ford Escape that was traveling southbound on Patterson Avenue hit him around 11:30 a.m.
Haight was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries. The other driver, Alyssa Oostdyk, 22, from Caledonia, had minor, non-life threatening injuries.
The Kent County Sheriff’s Department says speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors.
