041914floodWEST MICHIGAN — (Apr. 19, 2014) After nearly a week of flooding concerns rivers across West Michigan continue to fall thanks to drier conditions.

As of Saturday morning, many flood advisories have been cancelled but a few advisories still remain. The Pere Marquette River at Scottville, Grand River at Ionia and Flat River near Smyrna are all still under a flood advisory as river levels remain BELOW flood stage but above bank full. These three rivers are forecast to continue to drop throughout the weekend only allowing for minor flooding along low-lying areas directly adjacent to the river.

The only Flood Warning that still remains is for the Muskegon River near Croton but after a week of moderate flooding the river is continuing to fall. The river still remains above flood stage is expected to fall below flood stage by Tuesday evening.

Dry conditions will continue through Monday but additional rainfall looks fairly light and should not impact already flooded areas at all.
