HOLLAND, Mich. (April 18, 2014) — There’s a reason Roger Sterling on the AMC hit “Mad Men” has an Eames Time-Life chair in his office: Herman Miller helped put it there.

A post on the design web site Fast Company says the show’s set designer has relied heavily on the Holland-based office furniture company to achieve her signature period authenticity.

“My father worked in advertising for over 40 years and there was Herman Miller and Knoll furniture everywhere you went,” the post quotes Claudette Didul-Mann.

Didul-Mann has worked with Herman Miller’s archive staff to get just the right look for the offices of Sterling Cooper and Partners.

In an interview with GQ, Didul-Mann says she also relies on vintage office furniture ads from companies like Steelcase and Knoll.
