WEST MICHIGAN — (Apr. 23, 2014) Dry weather Wednesday gives way to rain chances Thursday afternoon and evening. A system will move through the region Thursday that will allow temperatures to warm during the afternoon and increase rain chances throughout the day.
Light rain showers may develop ahead of the front Thursday morning and afternoon however, any rain that develops will be short-lived and light. Better rain chances move in for late Thursday as the front looks to move into West Michigan overnight. Upper level winds will help transfer moisture into West Michigan allowing rain that develops overnight to become moderate to heavy at times. The system will be fast-moving and allow skies to clear Friday morning. Around a quarter of an inch to three-quarters of an inch of rain will be likely with some localized areas nearing an inch.
Temperatures remain mild Friday before a cold front drops high temperatures below average for the weekend and beginning of next week.
