On April 2, 56-year-old Takashi Sugimori was reported missing by his wife after he didn’t return from cross-country skiing at the lake.  His vehicle was found in a parking area near Asylum Lake near Parkview Drive.

Several law enforcement agencies searched the area both from the ground and the air trying to locate Sugimori.  Shifting ice on the lake prevented dive teams from entering the water during the initial search after his disappearance.
