Prosecutor: Man to Face Open Murder Charge in Muskegon Heights Shooting

MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. (April 29, 2014) — Shundarius Lawson, 20, is expected to be arraigned on an open murder charge Wednesday in Muskegon County, according to the prosecutor’s office.

Lawson is accused in the killing of Marquis Gresham, 17.   Gresham was shot April 23 in the area of Rotterdam Avenue and Fifth Street in Muskegon Heights.

Prosecutors recently charged another man in connection with this case.  Ryheim Beasley, 19, was arraigned Monday on a felony lying to police charge.

Lawson is being charged as a second-time habitual offender.  Online jail records for Muskegon County show he was arrested April 24 and is being held on charges of obstructing justice and possession of marijuana.
