griffinsGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (May 1, 2014) — One day later, Griffins head coach Jeff Blashill has a slightly different opinion of how his team played in Wednesday’s 2-1 loss to the Abbotsford Heat in Game 3 of their best-of-five series.

“I felt walking off the ice we had done a fine job in the third, but we didn’t create enough chances as we went back and watched the film,” said Blashill after today’s practice. “So we need to do a better job of playing for 60 minutes. I thought at times in the first 20 we were really good. I thought in the second 20 we were good. The last 20 we didn’t create enough. We’re going to have to do a better job of being relentless for 60 minutes.”

The Griffins know all too well how tough getting the final win of the series can be. The Griffins were 4-5 in elimination games during last year’s Calder Cup championship run. All five of those losses came at Van Andel Arena.
