Police: 14-year-old Taken Into Custody for Holding Mother at Knifepoint

Montcalm-County-Sheriff-OfficeSHERIDAN VILLAGE, Mich. (May 1, 2014) — A 14-year-old has been taken to a juvenile holding facility after the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Department says he was wielding a knife and holding his mother captive at a home.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of East Evergreen Street around 4:30 p.m. on Apr. 30. When they arrived, they found that the mother, father, and two younger siblings had already gotten out of the home safely.

No one was injured and the teen is being held at a facility in Evart pending a hearing in juvenile court.

    Yeap I can see this happening in our trailerhood.. Man these kids around here need some old fashion ass whippen! The mentally of parents and them thinking " Its not my kid!" Guess what People yours will be the first ones in prison unless you're rich. Wait you have no money you live in the trailerhood!

    Yeah…the law is on the kids side, you spank your kid and YOU end up in jail.
    Hence the problem and the result .
    Kids are taught in school that discipline is child abuse.
    I threatened to ground my kid once and she told me her teachers told the class to call 911 if parents "mistreated" them.
    I told her to go ahead, she did, 4 cops showed up at the door….
