Suspect Charged in Kalamazoo Double Shooting

KALAMAZOO, Mich (May 1, 2014) – A man accused of shooting two people in Kalamazoo is being held behind bars without bond after being officially charged today.

35-year-old Clifton Earl Davis faces two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder and other felony weapons charges after the incident near Trimble Avenue and East Main Street on Sunday.

Around 4:30 p.m., responding officers found a 23-year-old Kalamazoo resident suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot, and a 24-year-old Kalamazoo resident that had been shot in the back.  The 24-year-old was last listed in stable condition.  The other victim was treated and released.

Detectives arrested Davis on Tuesday in the 2000 block of Inverness Lane without incident.
