ALLENDALE, Mich (May 3, 2014) — The Grand Valley State baseball won the outright GLIAC regular season title with a dramtic win in the opening game of a doubleheader against visiting Malone.

The Lakers got on the board 1st when Taylor Banks singled to score Overbeck in the bottom of the 2nd inning.  Malone scored twice in the top of the 4th and added another in the top of the 7th.

GVSU also won the 2nd game, 2-1, improving to 23-6 in the GLIAC and 32-11 overall.

GVSU and Malone will play one more time on Sunday at the GVSU Baseball Field, before the Lakers head to the GLAIC tournament in Xenia, Ohio as the number 1 seed next week.
