SAUGATUCK, Mich., (May 7, 2014) A new, four day event promoting fashion kicks off Thursday along the lakeshore in the cities of Saugatuck and Douglas.
The following information is provided by the Saugatuck Douglas Area Business Association (SABA):
“A Taste of Fashion”, a new and exciting 4-day extravaganza, is premiering in Saugatuck-Douglas, the Art Coast of Michigan, on Mother’s Day Weekend Thursday, May 8 through Sunday, May, 11.
Co-sponsored by the Saugatuck-Douglas Convention Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Saugatuck-Douglas Area Business Association (SABA), “A Taste of Fashion” will include four uniquely themed fashion shows at four fabulous venues. Local retailers will provide models (and even some four-legged friends) dressed head-to-toe in distinctive clothing, jewelry and and shoes that reinforce the theme of each show. Galleries from the area will also display art and decorative pieces at some of the venues.

Dates, times and locations for each of the fashion shows are as follows:
Thursday, May 8 (8pm) – “Throwback Thursday”
At Wick’s Park Bar & Grill, highlighting fashion trends of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.
Friday, May 9 (6pm) – “Cocktail Soiree”
At Zing Eat Drink!, featuring sophisticated cocktail party and evening attire.
Sat, May 10 (2pm) – “Family Fun Beach Party”
At Ship-N-Shore, providing everything a family and their dog need for a great day at the beach.
Sun, May 11 (Mother’s Day, 11am-2pm) – “The Art of Fashion”
At The Saugatuck-Douglas CVB Welcome Center, displaying wearable art and spectacular works from local jewelers and art galleries.
At each show, guests can indulge in themed appetizers and local fare provided by the host venue, as well as enjoy a cash bar. Additionally, all guests will receive entry into a raffle for the chance to win weekend getaway
packages that include free lodging and gift certificates to local restaurants & shops.
Individual fashion show tickets are $15 each. Or “A Taste of Fashion” Weekend Pass, good for all shows, can be purchased for only $50. Tickets go on sale Saturday, April 26 at the following locations (cash only):

Proceeds from ticket sales will be used to hire a professional CVB/SABA event management team for the Saugatuck-Douglas area that will be responsible for creating and executing future community events like this
one.
