EGELSTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (May 8, 2014) — Six people escaped an overnight fire in Muskegon County without any injuries.

The home is on Apple Avenue, and firefighters tell FOX 17 that the family smelled smoke coming from the laundry room around 2 a.m. on May 8, and when they checked it out, the flames were already spreading.

Three children and three adults, including a woman who requires a motorized wheelchair, safely escaped, but the home was destroyed.

The American Red Cross will help with living arrangements.
