GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (May 12, 2014) — A Georgetown Township man kept a teenage break-in suspect at his home Monday morning until police arrived.

According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, three suspects tried to break into the homeowner’s garage in the 6800 block of Maier Avenue at about 3:30 a.m.

After a physical altercation he was able to hold the 19-year-old Georgetown Township resident in custody while his wife called 911, the sheriff’s department said.

The teen is facing charges for home invasion and assault.  The homeowner sustained minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital.
