GREENVILLE.JPGGREENVILLE, Mich. (May 15, 2014) — Police have apprehended an individual who caused a lock-down situation at Greenville Public Schools, which then resulted in other delays at other districts in the area.

Michigan State Police responded to a call of a possible armed subject near the middle and high school in the Greenville Public School district.  They were put in a lock-down situation as well as a two hour delay as a result.  Once the individual was in custody, Greenville’s superintendent was in the process of deciding a course of action for the rest of the day.

The lockdown has caused transportation and delay issues for other schools in Montcalm County. This includes the Greenville Centers at Head Start-Montcalm County; Threshold Academy, which put a two hour delay on its Greenville bus route; Montcalm Intermediate School District Transportation, where no buses are running to Greenville; and West Michigan Virtual, which is on a two hour delay.
