ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. (May 22, 2014) — The person of interest in the suspicious package incident that caused Dorr Elementary School to be evacuated earlier this week has been charged with a crime that led up to that incident.

A man was charged with felony larceny Wednesday.

A judge also ordered him to stay away from Dorr Elementary.   The school was evacuated following the discovery of a suspicious package.

He was accused of stealing a real estate agent’s ID card shortly before the alleged bomb threat.   Police say that ID card was found in his car.

It’s unclear when he will face formal charges for the alleged bomb threat.

The man was lodged at Pine Rest in Kent County and was arraigned Thursday via video conference.
