CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. (May 26, 2014) — A single-car accident sent three women to the hospital early Monday morning, and alcohol may have played a role in the accident.

According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, the rollover crash happened at around 3:20 a.m. at 8 Mile Road near T Dr. S in Burlington Township.  Upon arrival, deputies found a crushed vehicle that was on its side, and located two women outside of the car, with one woman trapped inside.  They removed the sunroof and were able to get the trapped woman out.

Over the course of the investigation, deputies found that the driver had lost control of the car, which then rolled several times.  There were three women inside at the time, all of whom are 19 years old.  One of them was not wearing her seat belt, and was thrown from the vehicle.  All three were taken to the hospital and are listed in stable condition.

At this point, deputies believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
