Grand Rapids Police Investigate 2 Shootings

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Grand Rapids Police Department is investigating two Thursday night shootings that occurred not far from each other and an hour apart.

At 7:30 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a shooting in the 1000 block of Niagara near Alexander. Officers told FOX 17 NEWS that a 16-year-old was shot in the back and suffered a non-life-threatening wound.

Then at 8:31 p.m. Thursday, police responded to 1214 Jefferson where a male was shot once and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Officers said they were receiving lots of information from the victim about the incident.

No other details were available about either shooting. Both incidents remain under investigation by Grand Rapids police.
