Suspect Robs Advance America Store at Gun Point; Search Puts School on Lockdown

cash advance robbery 2MUSKEGON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (May 30, 2014) — Officers in Muskegon Township are searching for a suspect who robbed a Advance America store at gunpoint.

According to police, on May 29 at 5:38 p.m. a man went into the store on Holton Road showing a gun and demanded money. He was wearing a dark ski mask, a dark blue University of Michigan hooded sweatshirt, and jeans. cash advance robbery 1

Two employees handed him an undisclosed amount of money and he left the store. A police dog tracked the suspect to a subdivision behind the store toward Reeths-Puffer Intermediate School and High School. Because of evening events going on at the high school, officials put it on lockdown after officers notified them of the incident. That lockdown was in place while officers searched the surrounding area.
