Movies in the Park
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (June 7, 2014)– Movies in the Park kicked off Friday night, but with some technical difficulties.
Right before dusk, staff attempted to fire up the new projector they purchased last year, and even after testing it twice, the electronics failed. Luckily a second projector was located, and the scheduled movie ‘Indiana Jones’ started late at around 10:30 p.m.
Grand Rapids Brewing awarded the crowd for waiting so patiently by donating 5 kegs of premium craft beer for those with wristbands. The movie ran until after 1 a.m. and about half of the crowd stayed until the end.
For the future, staff will have a backup projector to keep the movies playing.
