Daughter Announces Casey Kasem’s Death: ‘We Are Heartbroken’

(June 15, 2014) — Top 40 legend Casey Kasem died Sunday morning at age 82.

Kasem’s daughter Kerri posted a statement on her Facebook page announcing her father’s passing.

“Early this Father’s Day morning, our dad Casey Kasem passed away surrounded by family and friends,” the statement reads.  “Even though we know he is in a better place and no longer suffering, we are heartbroken.”

Kasem was battling advanced Parkinson’s disease at the time of his death.   According to TMZ, he was taken off of life support earlier this week.

    Real nice family, They basically starved him to death! Court ordered to withhold liquids and food- What a great country we live in where its okay to starve people to death just because they are elderly, or sick- sarcasm intended-(Terri Schiavo comes to mind) Its a cruel way to basically off someone-
    How strange though that he died on a sunday, The day his radio show always aired .
