GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., (June 20, 2014) — Mattawan native Staff Sergeant Andy Wolf finally had the chance to see the military dog he fought side-by-side with in Afghanistan this week. The pair was reunited in North Carolina where the Fort Bragg soldier currently lives.

Iras, a German Shepherd, has now been retired from active duty, and will live in Fayetteville with Wolf and his family.

A “Go Fund Me” account set up last month by Wolf’s brother in West Michigan helped raise the support to get Iras on a flight from Germany, along with thousands of dollars to help build a kennel.
