NORTON SHORES, Mich. — A rash of thefts from unlocked vehicles over the weekend has the Norton Shores Police Department urging residents to lock their cars and close their garage doors.

All advice we should all heed.

A statement issued Monday from the NSPD points out that of several reports last weekend of thefts from cars and garages in a neighborhood near Pontaluna Road and Martin Road, all of them were from unlocked cars and open garages.

In addition to locking our cars, the NSPD says we should always remove valuables from vehicles or stow them out of sight.

If you know anything about the weekend thefts, contact the Norton Shores Police Department at 231-733-2691 or Silent Observer at 231-72-CRIME.
