2-Car Crash, Woman in Serious Condition

Ambulance-graphicMT. PLEASANT, Mich. (June 28, 2014)– Police are investigating a two-car crash that happened Friday night.

Michigan State Police and Isabella County Sheriff Deputies responded to a crash on Pickard Rd near US-127 Friday night at around 10 p.m. According to police, a 38-year-old woman from Mt. Pleasant was driving east on Pickard when she ran a red light, crashing into another car driven by a 23-year-old man from Mt. Pleasant. Witnesses say that the woman was driving at around 70 mph in a 45 mph zone in the left turn lane before running the red light.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital by ambulance. The woman remains in the hospital in serious condition. Police believe she was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.
