Terri-Lynn-Land-Welcome-HomeMICHIGAN (July, 1, 2014) – The National Federation of Independent Business is supporting Republican Terri Lynn Land in her race for U.S. Senate.

“I am honored to have the support of the Michigan small businesses who make up the National Federation of Independent Business,” said Land. “As a small business owner myself, and having grown up in a small family business, I know firsthand how burdensome and costly federal regulations are to doing business and providing for the family. As U.S. Senator, I will fight for Michigan’s small businesses by opposing job-killing regulations from the EPA and by working to reform the tax code by making it fairer and simpler with lower rates. And most importantly, I will work to repeal and replace ObamaCare with free market solutions that don’t crush job creators, cause people to pay more, or lose their doctor.”

The endorsement comes on the same day a new poll shows Land trailing Democratic Rep. Gary Peters by five percentage points.

The Michigan Democratic Party calls the endorsement support from another ‘Koch-backed special interest group.’

“As Terri Lynn Land shows off further proof of her Koch-backed agenda, she is staying silent on yet another issue that could affect thousands of Michigan women,” said Joshua Pugh, Michigan Democratic Party Communications Director. “Land’s silence while embracing another Koch Brothers group only solidifies what Michiganders are already seeing: Land has an anti-women, anti-middle class agenda that would turn the clock back on women and give more tax breaks to billionaires who don’t need them. Unlike Land, Gary Peters has proven he is the only candidate that will stand up to special interests and put Michigan first.”
