MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. (July 1, 2014) – Too many questions, but not enough answers.

Three homicide investigations in Muskegon County have several in the area concerned.

The most recent is Rebekah Bletsch, a wife and mother, shot and left for dead on the side of a rural road.

Another unsolved homicide is in Muskegon Heights, where police need tips on the murder of Rayshun Day, 24.  He was shot in the head near Hume and Reynolds one week ago and  didn’t survive.

Then, there’s Jake Rameau, 26, who died after he crashed his motorcycle in the Heights last Thursday.

On Tuesday, FOX 17 learned he was shot before that crash took place.

Although sources close to the investigation are telling FOX 17 they don’t believe the homicides are related, investigators aren’t ruling anything out at this point.

Rameau was pronounced dead shortly after police found him in the 2400 block of Peck Street just before 2 a.m. Thursday night.

Now, family and friends are just looking for closure and justice.

“He was passionate about everything he did, whether it was singing, softball, whatever it was he was doing, he was all in,” friend Tony Laskowicz said.

He says Rameau would light up a room.  Passionate, fearless and loyal, taken too soon in what appeared to be a motorcycle accident.  Investigators quickly learned the crash was no accident.  New information that’s tough for those who knew the young father to accept.

“He had a way of amplifying everyone’s spirits around him, he was a really funny guy,” Laskowicz said.

As police search for those responsible for Rameau’s death, family and friends are arranging a benefit.

Details and how you can attend or help are on the #JakeshoreBENEFITdrive Facebook event page.  A fund has also been set up fordonations.

“He does have a young daughter, a girlfriend that he`s leaving behind,” Laskowicz said.

He says Rameau would give you the shirt off his back, that he was very close to all his friends and family, and they will truly miss the vibrant young man.

Anyone with information on the murder of Jake Rameau should call Michigan State Police Rockford Post at (616) 866-4411.
