GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (July 7, 2014) — Lawrence Shannon Scott was sentenced Monday for a fatal shooting Oct. 31 outside New York Fried Chicken, 743 S. Division Ave.
The 24-year-old will spend between 25 and 50 years behind bars for second-degree murder and felony firearms charges, according to Judge James Redford’s office.
Grand Rapids Police announced May 9 that Scott had been taken into custody for the 2013 murder of Dominick Floyd. He was one of two people gunned down outside New York Fried Chicken that night.
Police say Delorian Taylor was fatally shot as he attempted to rob another person.
