KENTWOOD, Mich. (July 7, 2014) — It is like navigating through a war zone for homeowners trying to find their way through the damage resulting from Sunday night’s powerful storm.

With a maze of downed power lines and fallen trees, the dangers are still present.

Homeowner John de Longpre says the storm was out of the area nearly as soon as it struck, but what it left behind, was something he never expected.

“There was nothing then all of a sudden it got really really loud,” says de Longpre.  “So loud I didn’t even hear a five-foot tree hit our roof and it lasted maybe 20 seconds, 25 seconds, and then it was deadly silent and only when I went upstairs the roof is caved in.”

The debris and shattered glass in their home made a path from one room to the next.  John says he is glad everyone is okay as he tries to stay positive about the work ahead of him.
