THOMASVILLE, North Carolina- A man in North Carolina is using his life experiences to help others out.

According to WGHP, Quade Vaught lost part of his leg in an accident eight years ago. While he tried to get things back to normal, he says the mechanism that helped him walk again, turned out to be an issue in the water; that’s when he teamed up with a friend to create the Swim Again ankle joint.

The device is maintenance-free and has been tested to withstand much more than the weight of a normal diver.

Vaught says he’s sold the device across the country, and even as far away as Australia.
