ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. — A Three Rivers man has been formally arraigned on child sex charges.

David Duane Wing, 59, is a former teacher who the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office says taught in Constantine and Three Rivers.

The Three Rivers Commercial-News reports that he  was also an administrator at Marcellus Elementary School.

He was arrested Saturday and has now been charged with child sexually abusive activity and three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.  One of those counts involves a person under 13 years old, prosecutors said.

Wing’s next court date was not specified.

I am wondering what David Duane Wing’s ex profession has do with this story? The fact he was a FORMER teacher does not seem to have a bearing on this case, does it? If it does, it is not explained in the story. Why not call him an “ex college student?” That seems to have as much to do with the story as his past profession. It just appears like a dig on CURRENT teachers that you would even mention his past profession(s).

It has a lot of bearing, especially when he was a teacher of yours. Always suspected something like this. Weird that it took so long for something like this to come out. He was a good teacher, but you always suspected. Sad.
