MACKINAW CITY, Mich. — The next toll increase for drivers taking the Mackinac Bridge is at least two years away.
A recent decision at a meeting Mackinac Bridge Authority assures that the $4 passenger vehicle toll will be unchanged for two more years. All bridge expenses are paid through tolls.
Tolls have gradually increased from 2008 through 2013, but MBA Board Chair William Gnodtke credited diligent maintenance and improved efficiency for the postponement of any toll increases.
The bridge is currently undergoing a years-long repainting project. Long-term maintenance plans include replacement of the bridge deck.
