Wyoming police unit at Oestrike address

WYOMING, Mich. — Wyoming Police Chief James Carmody told reporters the man who took his own life after a chase Thursday night was Brady Oestrike of Wyoming.

The body of Brooke Ann Slocum, 18, was found in the trunk of Oestrike’s vehicle.

Carmody confirmed that Oestrike had made a connection online with Slocum through Craigslist, but he would not elaborate in a Friday morning news conference.

FOX 17 did a background check which revealed no criminal record for Oestrike.

She was so young, innocent, about to be a mother the one thing in this world women want to be and not only did he take that from her but he took her life. She will be missed! People these days. Omg he should have suffered his death I hope Brooke an baby girl didn’t suffer. Prayers going out to get family. I’m so sorry for your lose.

I’m so sorry for your family losses, I pray that God lifts the Slocum members up during this horrific time in their life’s.
I have a daughter not much older and as a parent I sympathize with your family.
    God bless you all.

  • Been There

I sympathize with all the families involved. I did not know Brook or Charles, but I did know Brady. It is un thinkable what he did and was wrong. But for the people who know him, we can not comprehend what made him do this. He has always been such a teddy bear. I do really sympathize with the families of Brook and Charles since my grandfather was murdered 20 years ago. I have been there. But there are 2 sides to every story. My heart breaks for everyone!

    • Sad and Shocked

As a family member of Brady, I agree Been There. I can’t believe he did this. It is all so awful. I am hurting for Brook and Charles’ families. I am still in shock as well and trying to wrap my head around this horrible horrible thing while grieving the loss of my family member as well.

I am so very sorry for you Cassie. I’m sorry for your entire family. I’m sure the killer’s family is hurting as well but I can find no sympathy. That family’s loved one killed three people and ruined countless lives. I will be praying for you and your family.

I am very sorry for your loss. I just went through kind of a situation like this. I was held hostage along with others and we were held for 10 hours and raped all night. We have 3 children in the house and my mom came over to check on us and he shot her point blank in the face so I understand what it is like to lose someone so suddenly and so horribly. It is the hardest thing I have ever had to go through and I definately reccommend counseling!! That isn’t easy either but at least they can help you talk about it and let it out confidentially and they try to give u bits of advise to help you through situations. I still feel like it happened yesterday!! I hope your family will stick together to help each other get through this time. So sorry about your loss!!
