Update: Children’s Names from Golf Cart Crash Released by Kent County

GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich. (July 19, 2014)– Police are still investigating a golf cart crash that happened Friday afternoon, leaving one 10-year-old girl dead, and a 6-year-old boy hospitalized.

According to Kent County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened at around 3:30 p.m. Friday. Both the girl and the boy were driving the golf cart when it flipped over. It happened near 10472 East Paris Ave. SE.

The 6-year-old boy, now identified as Carter Elias, was flown to the hospital for treatment. He is currently in stable condition.

The 10-year old girl, known as Brookelyn Elias, sustained fatal injuries. Rescuers attempted CPR, but were unable to save her.
