CANON CITY, Colorado- A dog in Colorado could be getting back on his paws, thanks to some new technology from the Ortho Pets Mobility Clinic in Denver.
According to KDVR, Brutus lost portions of his paws after being left outside during the winter by a previous owner. He suffered severe frostbite, which has caused him to be less active, and puts him at risk for several health problems.
"We see these patients all the time this is a mobility clinic that specializes in dogs with disabilities, we build braces and prosthetic limbs for disabled dogs," said Doctor Patsy Mich to KDVR.
Before he gets prosthetic paws, Brutus will undergo several tests. There is also a fundraising site to help cover the procedure, which is expected to cost nearly $10,000.
