Victim: Michael Connor Verkerke

KENTWOOD, Mich.- Visitation and memorial services have been set for nine year old Michael Connor Verkerke who was fatally stabbed August 4th at a playground in the Pinebrook Village Mobile Home Park.

According to Stroo Funeral Home, the memorial is set for Wednesday August 13th at 11:30 a.m. at Cornerstone Church in Caledonia with visitation set for 10:30 a.m. an hour prior to the memorial service.

Connor is survived by his parents Dani and Jared and his three brothers, Kameron (7), Riley (5), Morgan (3).

12-year-old, Jamarion Lawhorn has been charged as an adult in juvenile court  for open murder and is expect to be back in a Kent County court Monday.
