GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich. — According to family, Mckinzie Joy Locklin, 14, was found safe Tuesday afternoon.

Locklin’s older sister Melissa Saganski told FOX 17 that family found Locklin in the woods near their home on Sunview Drive SE, and said she has a few scratches but is in good health.

“Words cannot describe our appreciation to you and the public for helping find our sister,” said Saganski. “(Mckinzie) may not actually realize she was in danger.”

Locklin was reported missing Monday by the Kent County Sheriff’s Department. However, according to deputies, Lockin was reported as a runaway on Saturday evening, when she left her home in the 7300 block of Sunview Drive SE on foot.

Deputies said Locklin has a learning disability and a history of running away.
