GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – U.S. Rep. Justin Amash took to social media Wednesday night, and again on Thursday, to speak out against police militarization and the law enforcement response in Ferguson, MO.

It comes as law enforcement reacts to days of protests and rallies after police shot and killed unarmed teenager Michael Brown over the weekend.

On Facebook, Amash reiterated his concerns and recalled a House vote on police militarization.

In June, FOX 17 profiled two sheriff’s departments in west Michigan that have MRAPs, mine resistant ambush proof vehicles, along with other equipment from a military surplus program. Law enforcement challenged the notion the equipment has militarized their police force.
