CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. — Emmett Township public safety officer Troy Estree was arraigned late Friday morning on criminal sexual conduct charges.
Estree, 45, is accused of raping a 15-year-old relative on two separate occasions.
He was charged in Calhoun County District Court with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. The Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office is handling the case.
Estree is being held on $150,000 bond. He was also told to surrender his police weapon.
His preliminary hearing is Aug. 22 at 10 a.m.
After being arrested Wednesday by Michigan State Police at the Coldwater post, Estree was suspended with pay from the Emmett Township Department of Public Safety.
