Deputies search for driver after hit and run

GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich.- Ottawa County Sheriff Deputies are searching for the driver who they said struck a 22-year-old woman and the took off, Saturday night.

According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened around 9:45 p.m. on Pierce Street, east of 48th Ave. in Georgetown Township.

Deputies state that 22-year-old Brooke Tomcsik was walking eastbound on the shoulder of the road when she was struck from behind by a vehicle. Tomcsik told deputies that the vehicle did not stop after striking her.

The vehicle is described as a dark colored vehicle with round tail lights.

Tomcsik suffered minor injuries and was taken to a Grand Rapids hospital for treatment.

This accident remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.
