September weather so far and what’s ahead

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — As of Monday, we’re halfway through September and so far, it has been a fairly typical month in terms of the weather.

TEMPERATURES: The high has been 84º, which occurred on the 4th and 5th. The low so far has been 44º on the 14th. Overall, Grand Rapids is running 18 total degrees below normal, or an average of just 1.2º per day.

RAINFALL: So far, there has been 2.35″ of rain in September. This is just 0.27″ above normal.

THE REST OF THE MONTH: If all goes according to plan, the rest of the month will be cooler and drier than normal. Here is the forecast from the Climate Prediction Center:
