GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — It’s installation week for ArtPrize, meaning this is the week that artists come to Grand Rapids and set up their pieces.

I caught up with two of these artists in downtown Grand Rapids.

Dave Mackenzie is a second-year ArtPrize artist.  His piece is called “The Living Wall.”  Mackenzie grew more than 60 different plants to create the massive wall of plants outside the B.O.B. in downtown Grand Rapids.  Mackenzie also designs and grows walls for homes and businesses.  For more on “LiveWall,” click here.

Another artist we caught up with was Mark Middleton.  Middleton is originally from South Africa but recently moved to Petosky, Mich.  Middleton's piece is of a zebra with the reflection of two rhinos in its eyes.  His goal was to bring awareness to rhino poaching in South Africa, and all proceeds from the sale of the painting will go to the cause.
