Poll: Peters leads Land by 7; Snyder up 3 on Schauer

LANSING, Mich. — New polling numbers are showing just how close some of the top races in Michigan remain less than seven weeks from Election Day.

According to a survey by Vanguard Public Affairs and Denno Research, Democratic Rep. Gary Peters is leading Terri Lynn Land by seven points in their race for U.S. Senate.

Polling aggregator Real Clear Politics, which compiles both national and state surveys, shows Peters maintaining a five-point lead.

Governor candidates 2014In the race for governor, incumbent Republican Rick Snyder holds a three-point lead over Democratic challenger Mark Schauer, and RCP has the race a little closer, just a one-point advantage for Snyder.

Incumbent Republican Attorney General Bill Schuette is leading Democrat Mark Totten by eight points.

In the race for secretary of state, incumbent Republican Ruth Johnson is leading Democrat Godfrey Dillard by about three points, which is within the margin of error.
