EF-1 tornado hits Metro Detroit

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich-   An EF-1 tornado has been confirmed in Metro Detroit.  The National Weather Service says the twister hit Rochester Hills around 6 a.m. on Sunday packing winds up to 90 mph.

The tornado started near Lambeth Park and New Kent Road, then headed northeast and ended at Spring Creek Road.

The storm was blamed for downed trees and power lines. Several homes were also damaged.

The National Weather Service says that no injuries or fatalities were reported.
