Family of Maxine Green still looking for answers one year after her disappearance

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Lasha Green calls it a nightmare come true.

Lasha's mother, Maxine Green, the sister of famed R&B singer Al Green, went missing more than a year ago, and the family is still holding out hope for her return.

Maxine, mother of eight, has a history of alcohol problems and mental issues, according to her family.

Sunday night, family and friends gathered for a prayer vigil on Division Avenue in Grand Rapids.  Green was last seen at the 'B & B Party Shoppe' on Leonard Avenue on September 6, 2013.

But police said Maxine actually wandered away from the 'Shepard's of Independence' home on August 23 of last year.

The family said there is likely someone out there who has information on what happened, and they simply want them to bring that information to police or Silent Observer.
