GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Friday's fire at an FAA facility in Illinois continues to cause travel headaches nationwide and right here in West Michigan.

On Friday, FOX 17 spoke with several travelers struggling to get to their destinations in wake of the delays and cancellations.

As of Sunday morning several flights to and from Chicago coming into the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids had been cancelled.

According to the GRR website, five American Airlines flights scheduled to arrive in Grand Rapids from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport have been cancelled.

Four more American Airlines flights scheduled to depart to Chicago Sunday, along with two United Airlines flights have also been cancelled.

In total, nearly 1,800 flights nationwide have been cancelled following Friday morning's fire that resulted after an employee's alleged sabotage of the Illinois air traffic control center where he worked.
