HUDSONVILLE, Mich., -- It's more than a can, but less than a growler: meet the crowler! White Flame Brewing Company in Hudsonville is now selling the 32 oz. cans of your favorite craft brews. The brewery, which opened in January 2012, hopes the addition of a crowler machine will take business to the next level.

"I think it's a great thing that will attract people to come here," owner Bill White told FOX 17 News. "Not only do we have great beer, we have a cool way for you to take it home too."

White and White Flame Brewing's head brewer Andy Steenbergen tout the many benefits of enjoying beer from a crowler.

"People don't realize it but sunlight, even if a beer just sits in the sun for a little while, even just on your car ride home, it can change the whole flavor of your beer," explained Steenbergen. "Oxygen can affect beer very quickly and if you just seal it in there, it just affects it even faster...I think [a crowler] helps out the quality of the product a lot."

Depending on the class of beer, the crowlers range between $7 to $9 dollars. Recommended usage is within 5-7 days but White said they are still looking into whether the crowlers preserve flavor past that.
