GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- As FOX 17 continues our "Forever Home" series we’re introducing you to Jacob.
He's a self-described hard worker and, at 15 years old, has only three years left to find a family.
Jacob is hoping someone will take a chance on giving him the love he so desperately dreams of.
“I don’t have no family right now,” he says. “It would be nice to spend time with someone.”
He’s been looking for a family for more than five years - after he and his siblings were removed from their parents' care.
“I would really like a normal family that can actually take care of me and spend time with,” Jacob says.
Jacob is creative; he loves drawing and muscle cars - and has one unique skill most parents will love.
“One thing the parents will really appreciate...I’m really good at cleaning kitchens and cleaning most anything,” he says.
An extremely hard worker in life and school, he’s taking extra high school classes in hopes of graduating early and getting a job to support himself.
But still, inside he’s a teenage boy - desperate for love.
“I would really like a normal family that can actually take care of me and spend time with,” he says. “Be special for me and give me something to spend time with more often.”
Jacob yearns for the simplest things with a dad - like playing catch or a family movie night.
A chance to love and be loved; an end to the loneliness and the beginning of belonging.
“I just really want one because I haven’t been with a family in years,” he says.
