Pedestrian struck while trying to move dead deer from I-96

Accident scene in westbound I-96 in Fruitport (FOX 17)

FRUITPORT, Mich. — A man who trying to clear a deer carcass from I-96 was hit by a car early Wednesday morning.

The accident happened before 7:40 a.m. on westbound I-96 near Sternberg Road.

Police say the victim hit a deer and was attempting to move it from the road when he was suddenly struck by a vehicle.

The victim was taken to the hospital, but his condition was unavailable.
